    Background: Founded in 1985, The Pembina Institute has become a major influence in the country’s energy politics and environmental education.  Now with offices in six cities across the country, it is more accessible to Canadians then ever. 

    A highly-reliable source of well-researched information on everything from green energy education for kids to the implications of the Alberta oil sand developments, Pembina’s resources are an ideal place to gain in in-depth overview of renewable energy progress in Canada, the impacts of climate change, and the state of government policy in tackling the problem.



    Pembina also makes sustainable energy available to businesses and homeowners, through its partnership with Bullfrog Power.  GreenLearning Canada, a program of the Pembina family, provides comprehensive energy and climate change education for teachers and students.

    Green Learning: Innovative energy and climate change education resources linked to core curriculum in Grades 4 to 10 in BC. Hands-on, direct experience and critical thinking lessons and online tools support teachers and students to explore these topics in transformative ways. In addition GreenLearning provides free, fun and engaging professional development workshops and follow up support for teachers. 

    RE-Energy: A renewable energy project kit that can be downloaded and printed from the world wide web - for free! Re-Energy.ca explores wind energy, water energy, solar energy, biomass energy and more through working models and easy-to-follow construction plans. Re-Energy.ca provides educators with background information, exciting hands-on learning activities, resources and links on renewable energy.

    Through direct learning experiences Re-Energy.ca allows students in grades 7 through 12 to discover the fundamental principles of biology, chemistry and physics, and to explore the application of science and technology to social and environmental issues.
