Measuring stream width, depth, and rate of flow
History: The IPPBC was formed in 1991, to support independent power producers that were developing projects in BC. As part of the province’s recent move to include private enterprises in the transition towards a more diverse energy mix, the IPPBC plays an important role in providing government and public relations on behalf of its membership. Of a total of 320 members, about 100 are energy developers, most with a focus on renewable energy sources such as small hydro power and wind. Approximately 200 additional members are companies involved in engineering, manufacturing, environmental consulting, construction and other associated services to the power generation industry.
Partnerships make for better, more successful projects
The IPPBC web site helps connect employers and job seekers at www.ippbc.com/Job_Seekers and www.ippbc.com/Job_Opportunities. Career options with IPPBC members are as diverse as the membership itself. From fish biology to wind data modeling, First Nations partnership-building to financial management, the opportunities to work in a clean energy career through this organization are ready to go for those ready to help.
