BC First Nations receive run-of-river project funding

Funding from three sources is being made available to support First Nations equity in run-of-river hydro-power projects in BC. The Federal government’s Major Resource & Energy Developments Resource Initiative program is providing monies to the Aboriginal Energy Partnership, as is Ecotrust Canada. The funding will go to the development of BC First Nations projects, or to acquire equity stakes in projects operating in their territories.
