Canadian schools in NA Solar Car challenge

The teams left Dallas Texas on Sunday July 13, racing northwards. Teams from the University of Calgary, University of Waterloo, Queen’s University and Red River College in Manitoba were among the qualifiers for the 3,862-km race, which ends on July 22 at the University of Calgary. Fifteen teams are competing in the Toyota-sponsored event, which includes a route approximately 4,000 km long. In 2005, the winning team was from Michigan State University, which set a record for an average speed of 46 mph, about 74 km/h.
