New Deal for BC Clean Energy

Following the announcement of a Clean Energy Act in last week’s BC Throne Speech, a government press release this week heralds the signing of three major new deals with clean energy developers. It appears there is a major effort underway to mobilize policy and economic development in BC’s renewable energy sector.
This is positive news for the industry, after a BC Utilities Commission ruling delayed the release of BC Hydro contracts with Independent Power Producers last December. Further announcements concerning the new IPP contracts is expected in the coming weeks.
