OTTAWA – The Canadian Solar Industries Association is pleased with recent events showing the Green Energy and Green Economy Act and new Feed in Tariffs are sending encouraging growth signals to the solar industry.
The industry celebrated the activation of a 9.1 megawatt (MW) solar PV project in eastern Ontario Oct. 5 under the Renewable Energy Standard Offer Program (RESOP), which brought the province into the top ten solar jurisdictions in North America. Two more projects about to go live are expected to put Ontario in with the top 10 U.S. States for solar deployment, ahead of Connecticut, Oregon and Massachusetts.
No other Canadian province rivals Ontario, and CanSIA points to the provincial government’s support for this success.
